Cable vs. Dish satellites very scary installations

With Dish Network or Directv the installer must always worry about any obstructions, such as buildings, trees, utility poles, or anything that may block the line of site. Cable TV will work perfectly even if you’re surrounded by trees or buildings.

Cable TV uses one small wire which will provide multiple services including your favorite Cable Television channels, Cable High-Speed internet, and even Cable Telephone services. These three services bundled together is commonly called the Triple Play which can save the customer some serious money compared to subscribing to all these services separately.

Both Dish Network and Directv started out with the original 18” dish, but with new satellites added and also new locations it’s complicated the installation process much more. Dish Networks main programming was and still is at 119° W but depending on local programming where available, High-definition, and varying service, installers for Dish Network have many orbital locations they must look for, starting with 61.5° W, 105°W, 110°W, 118.7°W, 119°W, 121°W, 129°W, 148°W. Anyone of the orbital slots needed, must have an unobstructed view, a clear line of site or there will be a signal loss.

Directv main programming was and still is at 101° W also depending on local programming where available, High-definition, and varying service, installers for Directv also have many orbital locations they must look for, starting with 72.5° W, 99.2° W, 100.8° W, 101.0° W, 101.1° W, 101.2° W, 102.8° W, 109.8° W, 110.0° W, 119.0° W. And again anyone of the orbital slots needed, must have an unobstructed view, a clear line of site or there will be a signal loss.

Many times if a Directv or Dish Network is installed in the Fall or Winter, it will appear fine until Spring when the trees start to bud the leaves come out, and then you realize your satellite is loosing signal. Then you have three choices, Cut down your beautiful trees, call your satellite installer to inquire about installing in a different part of the house if possible? Or the best choice, call your Cable provider and subscribe to the reliable service. Cable is not affected by trees, obstructions or any of the weather related problems that Directv or Dish Network are known for, such as cloud fade, rain fade, tree fade, snow fade, ice fade, and even wind fade.
